JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Education/Outreach & Community Engagement SpecialistThe Intermountain Fair Housing Council, Inc. is seeking to hire an Education & Outreach Specialist position to join our office located in Boise, Idaho. The Council is a non-profit organization that promotes fair housing practices for housing providers and consumers throughout Idaho. The Council’s Mission is to help individuals who face discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, and source of income.

The Education & Outreach & Community Engagement Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Serving under the direct supervision of the Education and Outreach Project Director and as part of a team, the Education and Outreach Specialist is responsible for:
-Assisting with the Council’s Fair Housing education and outreach activities;
-Assisting with and providing education and outreach with enforcement activities;
-Assisting the team with education and outreach reports;
-Conducting or providing Fair Housing education services to Idaho housing industry, advocates, government officials, community members and consumers;
-Providing education and outreach with groups and individuals about the function and mission of IFHC and the FHA;
-Facilitating and training in community/tenant engagement;
-Conduct fair housing intakes under education grants for referral for investigation under the PEI grant;
-Other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s Degree or 2-5 years of social service, investigative, legal secretary/paralegal or case management experience. We will also consider applicants who have strong social media or marketing skills, or a history of effective outreach in the community, along with a commitment to civil rights. Temporary position starting 7/7/21 to grant end date of 11/30/2021. Starting salary is $16,290.00 from date of hire 7/7/21 to 11/30/21 depending on experience for 40 hours a week.

Upon hire and continued funding, other benefits such as vacation/sick leave, holidays paid, retirement, and medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days of employment. Reimbursement for relocation is not available.
